I assume if you evaluate a lot of modern krakens this way, DND isn’t even the worst one.

I've been making my Hexblade to act similarly to a jedi, mage hand, super jump ability, but also lawful good dude that comes from a healthy family and is trying to help his friends go on adventures. GM has let me just think the Patron is just a voice I hear from time to time "Thanks creepy voice in my head! If you need help sounding less creepy we can workshop that a bit! You're loved too!"

I use this subclass as a 2 lvl dip for a Sun Soul monk to get a "kamehaha" at a pb/day rate. really adds to the dbz flavor

Pretty sure this thing, or at least its tentacles, have a cameo in Stephen King's "The Mist".

Love the Vampire Kraken idea. I did a video for the Bone Kraken (in the undead theme too)

Also, a bloodsucker does not need to be undead. There are plenty of creatures that drink blood in nature. Imagine the shock a cleric will experience when it mistakenly tries to turn a living creature that drinks blood.

I think telling your audiencethat the should not suggest you in the comments to play another system is … not good … I GM Blades in the Dark at the moment. I love the game. I use it for everything, not just heists, so I am on your side. But the intro of your video made me feel a little less welcome. There are very little Blades in the Dark, so I have to watch DnD content for the system agnostic stuff. And that can be very helpful. I think people who tell you to play another system are a) acting in your best interest and would love to see you cover other games once in a while (or more often) or are b) just trolls who should be ignored. Please be kind and don’t feed the trolls and think about the people who watch your channel although they don’t play or run DnD.

yeah, i think history vs D&D is a good idea. it’s interesting. and can be used to generate cool variations on tired tropes.

You could have Kraken be a class of creature or the name of Sea guardians. Maybe a bunch of great and ancient sea creatures who fought for territory, terraforming the land, and Sea with their great war, and with the end of it, came the lines drawn for the sea today. If they are revered as gods, different people, Kraks, fight to protect their deities ocean. Did jormangandr get involved? Separate the Earth into hemispheres of ocean to stop the fight? Man, I lovespitballing

The real Kraken 😅 and in the same breath it is a myth. I'm regards to vampire Kraken. I think he got the idea from the real Vampire Squid. It is a beautiful creature youtube it and I think the bioluminescence and thr barbed tentacles would be a great add to the monster.

I am actually working on a Kraken that gives the feel of an incredibly powerful monster that only the best can attempt to take down for Fabula Ultima. It's going to be ridiculously powerful, but I think would be manageable to deal with. I already got the main body down. Now just to create some tentacles that convey a specific gimmick...

My take on this is that I've played the game since AD&D planescape in 93. Often I am the only Black person in most games. I've played online and in AL games at like 4 different stores on the regular. I've seen a lot of characters that have "racist flaws" like hating tieflings, calling elves "knife ears" and such. But I also play enough to see constants in multiple characters of a player. And the racism type is cringe and kind of a red flag. The level and consistency of these ideals and saying, "it's just a game" is no less weird than having majority of your characters have a lolli kink. Though I admit, I enjoy having my character react, in character, the way I would. I mean we play that the paladin chooses who benefits from the aura 🤷🏾‍♂️

IDK if you're still talking about Genasi races or not, but...what about Infernal Genasi's, but they're from a plane of hell inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins? (I.E: Wrath, Gluttony, Greed, Envy, Sloth, Lust, & Pride)

Please tell me if this is an ok card background Name: ATAYANA BULANATAA Backstory: She was a farm girl in a small peaceful village. Her little sister Violeta is a very curious girl poking around where she shouldn’t. This gets her and Atayana into a lot of trouble. Atayana always found something to distract whoever she and her sister upset by singing or playing the lute. After a long day at the farm Atayana goes adventuring with her little sister despite a feeling telling her not to. Violeta finds a small trinket. A gang of warlocks were looking for it and Atayana covered for her sister but has been cursed with a spell that slowly makes her do things she wouldn’t and act cruelly to her sister on rare occasions but they have been getting more frequent. She goes on a quest to find a cure or isolate herself so she doesn’t hurt her beloved little sister.

My hexblade warlock is a reborn created when an entire village was slaughtered and he is the amalgamation of all the villagers souls. He awakes with no memories of his own and a drive to forge the chains that bound the villager before they were slaughtered into a sword that becomes his hex weapon.

I love Thief games where the factions are the Builders (and later the Mechanists) and the Pagans. Great worldbuilding

I once had this idea for a Swarmkeeper that was really a bunch of forest animals using a big hat and a trenchcoat to go around as an adventurer. I used the warforged for that flavor at first, and I never got to actually use that character in a campaign
